Presentations & Trainings

The Arkansas Fair Housing Commission hosts many trainings and presentations on fair housing and fair lending throughout the year. The Commission can develop hourly, half-day or full-day training sessions to meet the needs of your organization or agency. Presentations are tailored to the specific needs of your organization or community.

Trainings, though typically mandated as part of a settlement order or conciliation agreement resolving a fair housing complaint or as an industry requirement for funding or continuing education, are available to the general public.

Each training course provides an overview of federal and state fair housing and fair lending laws; updates on reasonable accommodations and modifications; information on Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act; and fair housing and fair lending compliance.

The Arkansas Fair Housing Commission regularly teaches three 8-hour courses in the following areas:

Fair Housing/Fair Lending Legal Updates:

Learn about recent and significant legal decisions, theories of discrimination, reasonable accommodations and modifications; and receive an overview of federal and state fair housing laws. Please join us for this very important training on fair housing/fair lending.

Management & Best Practices:

Learn about the Dos and Don’ts of fair housing marketing and management; fair housing sensitivity; an overview of federal and state fair housing laws; reasonable accommodations and modifications; and compliance.

Design & Construction:

Learn about key aspects of the Fair Housing Act and ANSI design standards; applicable ADA requirements; an overview of federal and state fair housing laws; reasonable accommodations and modifications; and compliance.
